if you put a frog in boiling water, he’ll jump out. if you put a frog in lukewarm water and slowly turn up the temperature, he’ll burn. 

i have so many thoughts about this book and none of them are fitting together to make coherent sentences rn so here’s a bulleted list:

• all politicians are pigs
• keeping the populace illiterate allows the government to get away with anything
• so many people don’t ACTUALLY understand the differences between capitalism, socialism, and communism (hint: real communism has never happened) 
• the correlation between character, intellect, and how often they talk 🤯
• the character who was constantly being like “i’ll just work harder.” very “pick yourself up by your bootstraps” and the fact that he’s the first one to get sent away. 

anyways. everyone get ur hands off the wheel and go read this book RN
