Devil Bones by Kathy Reichs

4.0

A little convoluted, but I always enjoy my time with Temperance and the gang.
******
I read this as a handheld a while back, but when I started listening to it this time around, I couldn't remember everything. And I like Kathy Reichs, so gave it another go. And I'm glad I did. I liked it more this time. Maybe because someone was telling me the story or a different frame of mind.
It's a busy story, several tendrils of tale going on to keep up with. It used to bother me when Reich's would add in all of the in-the-weeds forensic details, but I've grown to like that. I like learning as much as I like the mystery and the characters, settings, and story.
Brennan has many things going against her to add to the suspense. The men in her life are all coming up with surprises, the prejudice against anything not considered the norm, working against time to keep more deaths from happening.
It's been a while since listening or reading from this series and this was a good reminder to get back to it. I've missed my time with Brennan, Ryan, Slidell, and the rest.
Definite recommend.
