On the Precipice by Brianna Riley Macmahon

slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
On The Precipice is a novel full of political intrigue and secrets. The world is a chess board and we follow multiple characters as they move their pieces around the board in the lead up to an election.

Imperium is in a different world to ours, but it’s still incredibly familiar and you see our world’s politics reflected back at us.

There’s three political parties and we see through the eyes of characters in all of them. It has you think about what is good and bad and shows you everyone’s reasonings behind what they do and how they think their way is the best way to move forward.

Raelynn in my favourite character. She’s new to the world of politics and she’s set up to have a very interesting arc.
