American Radical: Inside the World of an Undercover Muslim FBI Agent by Tamer Elnoury

5.0

I don't do many audiobooks, but a colleague thought I might like this one since I'm a big fan of the tv show Homeland. What a great story! This gentleman's account of his days in undercover narcotics and later, counterterrorism investigations is absolutely thrilling. I'm thankful we have Americans who are willing to put their lives on hold to do this sort of undercover work, but I feel sorry for UC agents like Tamer. It's really hard to maintain any semblance of a normal life in his situation, and it obviously takes a toll on a person's mental state. This book also gives a little insight into the bureaucracy and politics that go into international investigations.
