Did not finish book. Stopped at 38%.

A lot of reviews say this was too dense. I can agree with that, the writing was a little full of itself. It felt like the author was trying to build the mysterious ambience but after a while it was just mysterious for the sake of mysterious. I also did not feel super attached to any characters. Like their whole hook was these people are flawed but powerful and I Got It. You didn't have to obfuscate so much and create social anxiety over nothing. The characters were mid at best. Writing was hollowly complex and the story had an interesting premise that didn't go anywhere. I'll just wait and watch the mid movie in 3 years.
