DEV1AT3 by Jay Kristoff

3.5/5 - I will say, that this series is picking up for me. It definitely isn't as consuming as some of his other work has been for me, but the plot is picking up. I am getting more from characters that I like now that the story isn't completely centered around Eve. It feels more well rounded and I am getting a better sense of the world and what is going on now that we aren't so zoomed in on the Eve/Ana drama. That is definitely still there, but it's just another plot rather than it just being the sole plot (if that makes sense). I really enjoyed seeing Cricket come into himself and to see more of Lemon and her development. There were definitely a few twists that gave me whip lash - some I saw coming but didn't know how we were going to get there and some that took me completely by surprise. I would also like to know why Mr. Kristoff likes to end his 2nd book on such a cliff hanger that if I didn't have the 3rd book already in hand, I would be under his bed screaming. I also really enjoyed the new characters that were introduced. They just added more depth to the story and gave it more flavor. I guess what I am trying to say is that the farther we get away from the Eve/Ana drama, the better the book gets.
