Bones to Ashes by Kathy Reichs

4.0

After trying to my darnedest to find the first book, I apparently failed. I think if I'd read the first book in the series, a lot of my confusion would have been cleared up, but I do have to say that as a standalone book, it's not actually that confusing.

All that said, I thought this book was good. This is the first forensic anthropology/mystery novel I've read. I picked it up mostly because I love the TV show Bones and I know it's loosely based on these books.

The writing was strong, the pacing was solid, and I was intrigued by the mystery plot. I had to take 2 and a half hours out of my day to drive across the state and I spent most of the time wondering what was going to happen next in the book.
