The Oysterville Sewing Circle
by Susan Wiggs
A timely novel with a unique depiction of drug use, domestic violence, sexual assault, family, and relationships. Caroline has returned to Oysterville from a decade in the New York fashion world with a ruined career but as the legal guardian of two orphans of domestic violence. I enjoyed the characters and the struggles they went through as their situations changed and the way the book depicted the impact of domestic violence on not just the abusers and the abused but their friends and family as well. The romance between Caroline and Will and the courtroom revelation at the end were a little too predictable but I found them satisfying none the less and enjoyed the way the story got there unfolding in the present as well as in flashbacks. I received a free ARC of this novel through the Goodreads First Reads giveaways
