Bird in Hand by Christina Baker Kline

'Bird in Hand' tells the story of two couples who have been friends for years. It turns out that the relationships aren't as solid as they seem. The book was sad... I found it very difficult to like several of the main characters and the whole book was a series of unhappy events (the end was slightly uplifting). Over all, 'Bird in Hand' was a good read. It wasn't a fun book, or one I would run out and recommend... but it was worth reading. The big problem I had was that the book jacket kept playing up the 'one terrifying moment' where everything changes... Well- that moment was horrible, but it certainly wasn't the catalyst for everything else that happened.
