Lore by Alexandra Bracken
5.0

okay... but like it was really good. Also let’s ignore that I started this book on the 20th Feb and didn’t finish until June 1st. In my case, I started but I place it done focusing on other things. And I’ve read 90% of the book in 3 days.

First of all, I’ll just say that you do need a great knowledge of Greek to understand the story or find it more enjoyable. For me, I forgot most things, except the very prominent ones, about Greek mythology. So it was very hard to get into. But once you do, it just clicks.

Another note, Lore really reminds me of City of Bones. But more fierce character, which I love. But like it does really resemble city of bones. With the New York City setting, character with bad tempered, friendship, pulled into a world. And I love that vibe.

Also love that this is a standalone. But don’t be fool. This book pack as much of a punch as an entire series. This is due to the intriguing plot point, like really they are phenomenal. There’s so many twist and turn that had me gasping. And even till the end, nothing is clear until the very last page. It had wrenching my heart.

Lore as a character is amazing, but... I don’t really like her younger self. She made many foolish and dumb mistake but I still love her nonetheless. I also love Castor as a nice, kind, and super sweet boy. Their romance was so cute! Especially that part!!! On page 261! Ahh I was screaming!

Also the extra romance in here was so cute as well! I called the shot! They were so cute!!!!

Love the found family trope founded in this though.

Overall, amazing. Honestly there’s just so much that happened that I can’t talk about all of it. But just know, I love this! It was hard to get into but after 100 pages in, it gets so much better!!
