3rd reread- I keep coming back to this hilarious series. Probably has to do with the characters most notably Sindari. I find that if cats could talk, they would definitely have his sass. Val is a breathe of fresh air compared to many of the other characters I like reading about. While she might have super human reflexes, she definitely felt human in every other way. Like when her health put her in very risky positions. the plot and the world are all fantastic. Re-reading it so I can enjoy the last three books and put things to rest with this series.

This book is as good as I remember it from a year ago. One of my favourite Urban Fantasy books.
At the time I thought the narrator was wanting but listening to another book ( the last three books) made me appreciate her all the more. She does such a wonderful job of portraying individual characters and when she shifts its easy to know which character she is impersonating.
Val, the 40-year-old protagonist, is on a mission to kill a wyvern who is causing havoc on Earth when she meets a dragon with violet eyes (see cover). When he shapeshifts, he wears slippers
