Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage
5.0
Gus and Teddy are sweet, spicy, funny, salty, tender, and REAL. I want to be their best friends and want to live out the rest of my existence in Meadowlark, Wyoming. Every opportunity I have to return to Rebel Blue is an absolute delight. Lyla is an absolute star and Lost and Lassoed shines so bright!
Lyla writes multi-dimensional characters and realistic relationships that are simply overflowing with heart. It's clear in the story that every relationship, interaction, scene, and conflict serves a purpose. Her story arcs are *that* consistent. It's easy to see yourself in Lyla's characters: They're relatable and authentic in ways that can make anyone feel seen. While Lost and Lassoed is first and foremost Gus and Teddy's love story, we see so many other relationships unfold: Gus and Riley, Gus and Amos, Teddy and Hank, Teddy and Emmy, and more. As Lyla talks about in her author's note, L&L is totally a love letter to dads and it's obvious how much of her own heart Lyla pours into her stories. All of these relationships make for a well-rounded story and a dimensional world that feels real.
Thank you SO much to The Dial Press and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. Love ya lots! xoxo
