Thank you Hachette Audio and Orbit Books for the copies of Light Perpetual by Andrzej Sapkowski! To be more accurate the whole Hussite Trilogy.
So it is really great to be alive right now, it is a bit harder to be run down on the road by knights or brigands. Which happens a few times throughout this series. But we are talking about the finale.
Reynevan is currently a spy for the Hussites and has gird himself for the final push. This historical fantasy closes out solidly, but not before a few heads will roll. Reynevan is a bit of a liability as a spy since if captured he knows too much, so everyone kinda wants to kill him. Thankfully the cast of accomplices, friends, and mercenaries can pull him out of the fire and immediately into another one as war consumes the region.
Peter Kenny rocked this series. Between the names I have ZERO history with saying, the Latin singing, and the regions, he did a lot of the lifting in keeping me on track.
This is an interesting read with a solid ending. I will admit that some parts drag a bit, but there is a lot of context I do not have as an American and not being super familiar with the conflict this is based on. But the religious satire and commentary on power is fantastic from my point of view.
