First of all, I dont think there was a trigger warning for domestic violence or SA in this???
It was just alright. The storyline and the conflict were very predictable.I immediately clocked that the conflict would be Tyler showing up to the cabin because of the card she sent and the lady she told about her cabin. As soon as I clocked this it wasnt a far reach to predict that Cruce was going to die while in his mortal form, which would break the curse.
It was actually kind of gross how much detail was put into Sophie’s suffering butshe closed her eyes when Tyler died and his death (which should have been drawn out and way more painful) got almost no description. Saving this level of detail for these areas crosses the threshold into trauma porn for people who get off on the suffering of women. Also, Cruce’s story could be a really cool one, I just dont think the execution was great.
Overall, there were many details of this story that just didnt make sense.
