I was super impressed at the amount of research the author did and the info she was able to find about each of the women. Very indepth.
I mean I can, but I can't believe the lack of basic human rights women were trying to survive with in 19th century Europe.Your husband has a baby with the neighbor & you have to stay.. what? He beats the living shit out of you, you have to stay. But you dont get to the dishes one night and he can divorce you? Messed up. No wonder so many of these woman were alcoholics.
& The vast amount of impoverished people living in Europe at the time is astonishing. & I had no idea the level of poverty at which so many were trapped living. Awful. Thankful for progress.
I think they are adapting this to film, excited if they do, I'd def watch.
