American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer

honestly only dropped the half star bc the audiobook audio was all over the place (you can hear the quality change from when it's obviously different recording sessions), and the narrator would even change how he pronunced names--there were even passages where he would pronounce Strauss as straws/strouse within minutes of each other. with a narrative with so many names that certainly didnt help, but i suppose the recording is from 2007 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯....anyway otherwise fascinating and a little heartbreaking, and impressively thorough (even a little overwhelming so)
