This was the first A.K. Mulford book I have read, and I found her writing enjoyable and easy to read. One thing I enjoyed about the book was the use of werewolves as rulers over humans. It was an interesting take I haven't seen in many high-fantasy, fairytale books. Some of the book's strong points for me were its use of found family and the self-identity exploration of the main character. Some areas where I think can be improved are the pacing of the book and the romantic relationship development. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will probably pick up the next book in the series when it is available.
