Happiness for Beginners
by Katherine Center
As someone who loves hiking and escaping life by heading into the outdoors this book caught my attention. Parts of the story were hilarious, sad and hopeful. It was great to watch Helen grow and remove a shell that wasn’t really her true self. I think we bend and reshape ourselves in relationships and loose ourselves. She went the complete opposite direction but didn’t let go of the structure and rules that she was trying to live her life by when she started out on her hike. By the time the hiking adventure was over we see her being okay within herself, that she was good enough and stronger. The banter, snarky comments and hilarious characters made you want to go on this trip with them.
