Solid all around and I really enjoyed the steadily-ratcheting tension as the suspense never really dropped even in the quieter moments. The unique writing style was also awesome, almost Douglas Adams-esque with its weird metaphors and fourth wall breaks, and the tendency to slip into script format for dialogue-heavy scenes not only paid a nice homage to the long history of supernatural/monster-of-the-week TV but also really helped keep up the pace in scenes that might otherwise have felt too slow. The glacial start, somewhat abrupt ending, and weird transphobic undertones were definitely all distracting. But overall, I still thought it was worth reading.
