Heat 2 by Meg Gardiner, Michael Mann
4.0

“Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.”

Heat 2 serves as a prequel and sequel to the movie Heat. The book jumps between two time periods: 1988 and 1995, where it continues the original story. As a fan, I was satisfied with the execution of this book but felt it lacked a bit of polish. I think it’s because of the prose.  It feels more like a screenplay rather than novel.
