This is not exactly a hopeful book, but it makes centuries of history of racist ideas VERY clear - what drives them, what shifts them, what will or won’t work to eradicate them. The thesis is so well researched, with support shown through the lives of five key Americans and the dominant expressions of racism during the eras in which they lived. Clear writing to express content that may be tough to digest, nothing presented in an inflammatory way but nothing sugar coated either. Professor Kendi’s work is critical.
