The Christmas Party by Mikayla Davids
3.25
tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Loveable characters: No

A family estranged for ten years reunites at a holiday party set in a secluded 5-star countryside hotel. All the elements of a classic popcorn thriller are here--the isolated hotel set in a blizzard. The family reunited for a decade of secrets to be revealed, or not. Multiple POV's (which ultimately gave way to me guessing involvement of characters in the story) as well as timelines.

There were points in this book where I was tearing through pages...and then times where I was tearing up from frustration or boredom. By the end, though, I will say I absolutely am intrigued about the next phase of the Bailey family secrets. The author has me guessing about that. This is labeled a "psychological thriller" and I wouldn't quite call it psychological but definitely popcorn. Something relatively short and set during the holidays, which was what I wanted to read.
