Backstory

I was determined to read through all of Hoover's books, actually to form an opinion on her, and this book did not help her case.

Review

I did read enough of Hoover's bibliography to understand her writing style and her choice of writing books. Compared to her other book, Ugly Love, in my opinion, was the worst, and All Your Perfects was my favorite; I would put this in between them. My main concern for this book was the love interest for the main character. I did feel that in the end, he wasn't worth the effort the main character went through to be there for him. Like yes, he did have a tragic backstory, but that does not give you the excuse to be, pardon my french, an ass to the girl. He was flawed, and that was a good detail that I did like about the book, that the characters were human and had flawed characteristics.

Recommendation

This came close to not being recommended by me, but I would say Romance and contemporary readers.

Trigger Warnings

Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, Drug Overdose, Parental Death, and Poverty themes.

Age Rating

It was not as graphic as her other books, so 14+
