This novel was a little bit of a mixed bag for me in regards to whether or not I liked it. There is a lot of good aspects to the novel, but there was some weak spots too. I liked the overall flow to the writing and found it to move along quickly. Certainly the topic was not an easy one to tackle, and I found that it was addressed appropriately. I do wish more time was spent developing Beaux and Emma’s relationship and back story so that the reader could see how they both ended up where they were at the beginning of the story. I know that there was an act of infidelity, but it almost felt a little bit of a throwaway. I enjoyed the relationship between Emma and Julian, but again would have liked to have seen some more development of the characters. Overall my main complaint is that the events and the story felt rushed. I think it had a solid foundation with a great plot line, but I needed a little more detail and character development to flesh it out a bit more.
