This started off strong, lost my attention for a while about halfway through, and then kept me riveted for the second half. (And to be fair, losing my attention might have had more to do with my waning attention span than the actual story). A lovely fantastical tale of love lost and found, doors to other worlds, adventure, struggles against white supremacy, coming of age, magic, and courage. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys stories by the likes of Erin Morgenstern and Catherynne M. Valente.
