I didn’t understand the setting of the book until over 100 pages in, but once I did it makes the whole story make more sense. I can’t help but wonder if Atwood did that on purpose for an artistic reason, but it almost lost my attention many times while reading. It’s slow to medium paced and overall was a good read. I just wish Atwood did more explaining of who Oryx and Crake are in the beginning so that I didn’t spend over half the book confused.
