Her Majesty's Royal Coven by Juno Dawson
Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
Pace was too slow. I was 1/3 and the focus was still on each of the characters’ relationships with their romantic partners and very little attention to anything else. The prose was predictable and uninspired. The pop culture references got tired fast. I was just bored.
I understand that the book eventually talks about trans issues, which is completely fine with me. That issue had not yet been raised when I stopped reading, at page 132 in the paperback version, which may be why I felt the pace was slow. Since that’s the focus of so many reviews, I expected it to come up sooner than it did.
