My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh
3.0
“If I kept going, I thought, I’d disappear completely, then reappear in some new form. This was my hope. This was the dream.”
-
the biggest win of this book was that the writing style managed to be insanely easy to get invested into despite having a nauseatingly unlikable protagonist and absolutely zero plot. somehow i was gripped by the life of this wealthy white woman with zero redeeming qualities for about three hours which was how long it took me to read.
i can’t decide if i liked it per say but it was interesting. this is truly american psycho for women.
