How Proust Can Change Your Life by Alain de Botton

4.0

I went into this book having never read Proust before and really only having the vaguest idea of who he was and what he wrote about. However, reading this book did make me want to read Proust. I appreciated the immense amount of research de Botton clearly did to write this book, including parsing through letters, essays, reviews, and other work written by and about Proust.

This book was surprisingly engaging overall, and it offered an interesting perspective on a few different topics through the lens of Proust's life and work. This is the second book I've read by de Botton, and I have found his writing style to be both accessible and intellectual. I am looking forward to reading more of his work.
