I found the setting really interesting but in the end I would’ve liked to be shown much more and found it a bit lacking in depth. Like it could be more fleshed out.
I did really love the friendship between Jam and Redemption and the way Bitter and Aloe loved and respected their daughter through her transition and teaching her sign language. As well as the revolution cry

We are each others harvest.
We are each others business.
We are each others magnitude and bond.
And reading of Redemptions home with poly parents was sweet and so much family and warmth that felt so strong
But monsters hiding in plain sight and being very close by and people/adults choosing to ignore or not believe and allowing harm is obviously so real and all of it definitely made me very emotional.
I wonder what exactly happens with
And what is Lucille going to do moving forward?
I also wonder what it would’ve been like to read this when I was younger.
