The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

5.0

what a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL journey this was. I don’t know what the father of fantasy is but this may be close to it because tolkien somehow created the most magnificent magical world that to this day can compete with new fantasies.

i have always loved the movies. they will always have a special place in my heart. and to read and recognise some of the dialogue in the books is whole different kind of magic. it’s almost romantic how tolkiens dialogues hold so much power. the emotions i felt reading these scenes was unparalleled with anything.

it’s very hard to review this book because obviously it’s huge so at times you do dislike the pacing. but the characters, the plot, the imagery, and the entire lord is so fascinating you can’t help but want to praise it.
