Faithless in Death by J.D. Robb
5.0

Holy crap that was phenomenal! This is book number 52 in the In Death series and Robb has outdone herself. As usual Eve, Roarke and the team are some of the most dynamic and engaging characters I've ever come across in fiction. I've just looked at the clock and realised it's 6.30 am. I've stayed up all night reading this and it was worth it!

The case begins with a murder to be solved, and quickly expands. I was riveted as Dallas and co descend down a rabbit hole where a powerful organisation has gotten away with every kind of crime you could think of. It was fascinating and disturbing in equal measure, learning just what these people are doing behind closed doors.

As Dallas digs deeper into the order, Robb paces and builds up the tension fantastically. I could not put this down as the team put the pieces together to build their case and take down their targets.  This was also a very emotional read too. As I've mentioned, their target has committed every crime you can think of and it was intense and heartbreaking to read about.

There are some lighter moments to be enjoyed too, as favourite secondary characters make an appearance. As always, Eve has some hilarious and sarcastic observations about the world around her. I love Roarke, but Eve Dallas? I frickin' adore her. If you're into crime thrillers or romantic suspense and haven't tried this series yet, well you need to ASAP.
