The Familiar, Volume 5: Redwood by Mark Z. Danielewski
5.0
I absolutely DEVOURED this volume.
It went by so so fast and that ending was absolutely phenomenal.
I am so very sad this series has been pretty much all but confirmed cancelled at this point as I would have been more than willing to read all 27 volumes.
I am hoping one day that this story can be told through whatever medium can best convey it, either through novels, graphic novels, a web series, a TV series, anything.
As I mentioned in my Vol 4 review, this series is definitely one that I will keep revisiting for the rest of my life. There is so much to pick over throughout all 5 volumes.
It has taken me about 8 months in total with breaks in between to read all 5 volumes. And in that length of time these characters have really stick with me.
It is with a heavy heart that I let this series rest on my shelves for a while, but I will one day, with no doubt, return and re-read this series.
Thank you, "The Familiar" for becoming my Familiar in these past 8 months of my life.
