 This is such a fun, nostalgic taste of my 80's childhood. I figured it out and Ramona and I are just about the same age, assuming she was 8 when the book was published. Which means she is currently older then her parents were in the book.
This is a kid's story so minimal plot but a nice through line. I did find it to be a little dated, especially in the songs mentioned. Overall an enjoyable book. 
I am sure my rating would have been higher if I rated it as a child.
