Night Embrace by Sherrilyn Kenyon
4.0

Once again, another banger from Kenyon. This time, the main characters were all right but they weren't my favorite -- because Zarek stole the spotlight. Had Zarek not been a part of this story and made me feel for him so much, I might have been more invested in Talon and Sunshine.

Actually, thats a lie because the more we got to see from Acheron's point of view the more I just wanted to skip to Acheron's story. But I'm reading them in order dammit.

Between Zarek and Acheron, I just wanted to focus on them and not Talon and Sunshine. Which could be because the soul mates storyline isn't usually for me. It's not my favorite trope by any means. It has to be done really well, and while it was nice seeing it play out in the Dark Hunter setting it still didn't make me happy.

Sunshine was goofy and loveable and is a wonderful person. She takes no shit and brings happiness wherever she goes. Talon is moody and broody and just how I like all the Dark Hunter boys, but be still your hearts he shows how tender he is to Sunshine and only to her. To the rest of the world he is a badass. To her, he is mostly a dumbass but he is her dumbass.

4 stars for the quad bear brothers, I'm looking forward to a book about them hopefully in the future. Also 4 stars for Acheron holding a baby. And 4 stars for Zarek being the wild feral cat he is except for beautiful pottery made by a woman who suffers from an attention deficit disorder.
