Let me start by saying that this book was hard to get through, to say the least. I came dangerously close to DNF'ing due to the confusion it caused me. Instead of evoking a sense of dread or fear, it left me feeling utterly stumped. Visualizing the scenes described in the book was an arduous task, and it only led to more unanswered questions. While I must admit that this is not Adam Nevill's finest work, I take solace in the fact that his other books compensate for this particular disappointment.
