This book made me understand why pop science books can be so attractive, and that I need to be cautious when reading them as gospel. They are not peer reviewed and can be written with intent to persuade rather than educate. I believe this is the case here? There are, in the few pages that I read, many attempts to dispel ‘liberal myths’? in this book, and it made me uncomfortable. Most of it didn’t sit right because I knew I had read peer reviewed or more trustworthy sources of information, but I was angry that some may read this and believe it all. I understood more when I looked up the authors, and was disappointed, to be honest.
