Initially, I felt a bit disappointed when reading this book because I was very intrigued by the premise and then the opening was quite engaging! But then there were all these rules about it and I found Fumiko a little bit annoying. THEN!! The bit where Kazu revealed that if you don’t finish your cup before it gets cold, you become the ghost in the chair!!! PLOT TWIST!!! I was so intrigued and Fumiko’s ending was so cute! The story between Kohtake and Mr Fussgi was so sad (I cried!) and then Hirai never seeing her sister again - that really got to me!!! I cried (again!) I felt really upset about Kei making the choice to have her future baby even though it would end up with her dying because I love Kei’s character! She’s such a sweetheart!! I’m just glad that Miki had a good support network growing up without her. But still, I cried!! I liked the matter-of-fact style and the unique descriptions in this book, but what I admire most is the way this book made me feel. I felt such sorrow, yet so hopeful, reading this book. I do wonder if I will experience the same emotions if I were to read it again…! Also! The characters were so lovable that I would like to find out what happens to them in the second book of this series!!
