Our Short History by Lauren Grodstein

4.0

I really loved this novel, an extended letter from a dying mother to her son. The descriptions of settings were so evocative I feel as if I just spent time on an idyllic island near Seattle as well as the energetic streets of Manhattan. The book remains emotional without getting sappy, and Grodstein does an excellent job of portraying genuine, kind, and sometimes screwed-up people--in other words, it seemed realistic throughout.
