I really felt immersed in the atmosphere of a dark, smoky speakeasy. I did get rather tired of all the "what do you want?" and "how do you feel?" questions all the time. Also, I was annoyed by

the cliff-hanger ending

. However, I did like it enough to read the next in the series.
