Ducks, Newburyport by Lucy Ellmann

3.0

I've done it. I'm finally free.
My copy of Ducks, Newburyport is going to go on my bookshelf like a trophy. I have been reading this since November 2019.
This is an exhausting read but I do appreciate what it is doing. The more time you spend reading it, the more you get into the flow of the writing style and can even think in the same way as the protagonist.
Between nonsense, pop culture references, comments on modern day America, we discover the the life story of a Ohio housewife.
I'm not going to lie, a lot of this did go over my head. There are many American pop culture references I do no understand. However, this book is so current and refers to news from the last few years.
