schwikat 's review for:
The Gathering
by Anne Enright
This book is a beautiful story about a complicated and large family. The storyline is a bit confusing and I found myself lost within scenes wondering when the avénese were taking place.
I must say coming from a larger family, this book hit home with the way the siblings relationships were portrayed. The way each relationship was told was very well done and I found myself wanting to know more and more about each of them.
As a family oriented person I must say I found myself frustrated with the family dynamics but the author does a good job of reminding the readers everyone is different and every relationship is different.
I only give this book a 3 out of 5 stars because of the confusing writing but aside from that Anne Enright is a beautiful writer and I loved reading the Irish slang included in dialogue.
