The Right Move
by Liz Tomforde
This book kinda took me by surprise. I went in with mid expectations bc i’d seen many readers DNF-ing Mile High, so I figured this one might be similar. But boi, was I wrong! I found myself smiling and kicking my feet with every chapter. The story started off great and was immediately fast-paced. The reason I gave it a 4 star is that around the 60% mark, the plot became somewhat repetitive. Also, the back-to-back full chapters of spicy scenes weren't really my cup of tea. BUT, the ending was very satisfying.
With the characters, I absolutely loved how their personalities were portrayed. The book didn't make their traumas the central focus, but rather how they overcame them. The speed at which they resolved misunderstandings and their communication were spot on.
Altho I didn't fully resonate with Indi, I admire her personality and aspire to be more like her… except for her messy roommate habits and constant rearranging of Ryan's apartment. But what i loved most was the emphasis on quiet, attentive love being the loudest form of affection. With the way intimacy developed through Ryan's anticipation of Blue's needs, his attentiveness, patience, and understanding…
Overall, this was an easy and light read that made me giggle and kick my feet. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series.
