The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

5.0

Oh, how I love books with remarkable characters.

Liesel. Hans. Rosa. Rudy. Max. Though I think I loved Hans and Rudy the most.

Poetic, yet still easy to read. Recommending this to everyone who wants to get familiar with the events in WW2 (I love how the narrator gives us glimpses of war) or to anyone who just wants to have an ugly cry.

Just a few notes:
- Compared to All The Light We Cannot See, I think this book caters to a wider range of age groups. It's easy to understand for middle-grade readers but is still valuable to adults.
- I saw the trailer and it's far from how I imagined it - the town, the basement, the characters. Idk, but many said it's good nonetheless.
