Good for a Girl: A Woman Running in a Man's World by Lauren Fleshman

emotional informative inspiring medium-paced
I've been a Lauren Fleshman fan since 2017, when my high school cross country coach printed out her viral essay, "Dear Younger Me", and assigned it to us as required reading. With this memoir, she reminded me again of why I love her so much: she treats running like art, like something meant to be experienced, savored, and appreciated. What a privilege to read about her journey, and what a joy to see the ways in which she (and other brave athletes!) are changing this sport for the better.
