Such a good premise - time travel! Interesting plot line! I love a good character glossary! But it quickly goes downhill.

Tragically, none of the characters are relatable, because none of them act like humans. Our main character is super likeable and everyone adores her (even though she consistently ignores people when they’re talking to her)! The people who don’t love her? Well of course they’re out to destroy the world! The hot guy? Adores her even though she literally falls asleep when he tries to tell her things! Her coworkers? Quit their TIME TRAVEL JOB when she’s fired!

If I had a job time traveling, I would MAYBE quit it for my mom. MAYBE.

None of the characters make decisions that make sense. Max is treated like she’s hilarious and brilliant and loved by everyone even though she ignores everyone else’s advice/zones out when people are talking to her/is kind of a self righteous ass.

The chief? Says shit to her on their first date that would get literally any man punched. Talks like a romance novel boyfriend. Adores her even though she LITERALLY falls asleep while he’s talking to her.

Izzy? Is a caricature of a real person, hates Max because max stole her boyfriend. She’s the bitchy cheerleader from YA.

Every single one of the characters is just SO bizarre and acts nothing like a real person, and you’ll be left wondering if the author is a 16 year old girl with killer ideas, or a grown woman with some serious hang ups from middle school.

This book is like 75% super cool plot idea, 25% awkward teenage revenge fantasy. Great idea! Poor execution.
