I did like the book, but there were some problematic stuffi couldn't ignore, maybe it was a translation issue but the author made it seem at times that gay men have no control over their desires. Finding someone attractive and mutually liking each other ( I know it's hard to find that relationship for gay people in India but the point still remains) and touching their private parts without their consent isn't the same thing. It was kind of a letdown there. Also Shantuna's bisexuality being the reason why he is cheating on his wife rubbed me the wrong way. There isn't any excuse for cheating. Maybe the character used that excuse, hopefully that was a deliberate decision by the writer. Other than that this did give me a good insight into the gay experience of Indian men.
