I try to review books as soon as I’ve read them but I’ve read a book after this by this point.. But I couldn’t not review it.
Daya is a character I can relate to. I’m currently 21 and I still feel like I have so much to learn, with my stubbornness and with life. Daya is a character I can relate to not only because of her immaturity with some things in life but with her relationship with pain. If I’m being completely honest, I was the same way at one point, and some days I still am. For whatever reason, whether I’m frustrated or upset, it’s better to hurt physically than mentally. But I am so glad to have followed her story, watch as she learned how to form relationships with others and work as a team when she found a new sport she can be proud of. I noticed she took herself very seriously at so many points in the story, she didn't know how to let loose.. that's another thing you can add to the list of "Relatable". If you need a book where you want to cry with the character, where you want to yell at them for doing the wrong thing, and when you want to take pride in them at the end, this is it.
I can’t tell you how much I truly loved this book other than, I finished it in a day. Also, look at that cover! It’s gorgeous and the shades don’t hurt my eyes, but they’re still bright enough to catch them.
