The Secret History
by Donna Tartt
4 Stars
I feel like a massive hypocrite for rating a book I described as "dull" for so long, and even considered dnfing it about halfway through, but this book was truly something else. The only reason it isn't a 5-star read is that the pacing of Book 1 was simply too slow. I think this book will always be in the back of my mind as I contemplate my feelings and opinions on it, but I know one thing for certain: I am glad I did not DNF it. These characters were all flawed in a way that made the story fascinating. I still cannot tell you who I think the villain of the story is, as in a way, it's all of them. I am truly glad I chose to keep reading.
