An Orphan World by Giuseppe Caputo

4.0

Caputo's depictions of the uses and abuses of the flesh are vivid, teasing, and occasionally so brutal that they become surreal.

This book's other project is less bracing, to the extent that its full impact is only felt at the end, when its picture of what it is to live and die in the dark has been allowed to develop almost unseen.
